Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
